Basic First Aid for teenagers
Course Description
This course is specially designed for teenagers and will teach them how to provide basic first aid to themselves and others when they encounter emergencies in everyday life, such as cardiac arrest, choking, hyperventilation, wound care, bleeding, bone and joint injuries, unconsciousness, seizure, stroke, and heart attack, to effectively prevent death and disability.
Learning Objectives
- CLOs1: students will be able to gain knowledge of the principles of basic first aid, assessment situations, illness, and emergencies.
- CLOs2: students will be able to gain knowledge and skills for basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- CLOs3: students will be able to gain knowledge and skills for choking, and hyperventilation syndrome correctly.
- CLOs4: students will be able to gain knowledge and skills for wound care, bleeding, bone, and joint injuries, correctly.
- CLOs5: students will be able to gain knowledge and skills for a person with unconsciousness, and seizure correctly.
